Continuity
Recovery testing and business continuity planning
You have backups, but can you actually restore your operations, and how long would it take? We find out with a controlled test of a selected system and prepare a plan for serving customers or citizens while systems are down.
Scope and price are confirmed in writing before work starts.
Discuss your caseWhen you need this service
- You have backups but have never tested a restore.
- You do not know how long work would stop if the main system went down.
- You have no plan for serving customers or citizens during an outage.
The benefit for your organisation
- You get a measured recovery time for the chosen scenario.
- You find gaps in recovery during a test, not during a real outage.
- You have a plan for continuing to serve customers or citizens.
Restore test
One important system: a test plan with your IT team or supplier, a controlled restore in a separate environment, measured time and data checks, gaps and fixes.

Business continuity plan
Critical processes and their dependencies, acceptable downtime and data loss, temporary ways of working, owners and the order of recovery.

Sample output
Illustration with fictional data — not a real client.
| Check | Result | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Restoring the records system from backup | 4 h 40 min against an acceptable 4 hours | Document the steps, re-test |
| Most recent recoverable data | Previous day, 22:00 | Acceptable for the process |
| Access to backups if the domain is down | No separate account | Separate recovery account |
Why it matters
- NIS2 (EU cybersecurity directive) requires business continuity, backup management, disaster recovery and crisis management measures (Art. 21(2)(c)).
- DORA (EU Digital Operational Resilience Act) requires a business impact analysis and business continuity and response and recovery plans that are tested at least yearly (Art. 11).
- A backup does not prove that a business service can be restored in time: access to the backups, dependencies and the real duration all matter.
What you receive
- A test record: what was restored, how long it took, how recent the data was and what was missing.
- A comparison with acceptable downtime and a prioritised list of fixes.
- For the continuity plan: a plan for management approval and a short exercise based on it.
Base scope and what you provide
- Test: one system, one restore scenario, no impact on the live environment.
- The restore is carried out by your IT team or supplier under an agreed plan, or by Dyasol with access provided.
- You provide a separate test environment and the existing backup procedures. The timeline starts once the test window is agreed.
- Continuity plan: up to 5 critical processes as a base, with interviews with the owners.
Boundaries
- The test checks the selected scenario, not every system and risk.
- We do not guarantee that every future incident will be recovered in the same time.
